Rencie Event Clipper ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension operated by Rencie ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.
Rencie Event Clipper allows you to clip event details from any webpage and save them either to your Rencie profile or, if your account has Rencie Studio, to your Studio organizer dashboard. It extracts structured event metadata (such as JSON-LD and Open Graph data) from the current page when you activate the extension, and sends that data to Rencie's servers.
When you save an event to your profile, Rencie creates an event page for it (or uses the existing page if the event is already on Rencie) and saves it to your profile. The event details on that page are public, like any other event on Rencie. When you save to Studio, the clip is held in your Studio dashboard until you assign it to a space.
The Extension collects and processes the following categories of data:
The Extension does not collect or access health information, financial or payment information, personal communications, location data, browsing history, user activity (such as clicks, mouse movement, or keystrokes), or any data from pages you do not actively clip.
All data collected is used solely for the Extension's single purpose: clipping event details and saving them to your Rencie profile or Studio dashboard. Specifically:
Authentication tokens and your save destination preference are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. Event data you clip is transmitted over HTTPS to Rencie's servers and stored securely in your account.
We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with third parties. Your data is not used for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness assessment, lending, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core functionality.
The Extension does not use remote code. All code is included within the extension package.
You can uninstall the Extension at any time, which will remove all locally stored data (authentication tokens and preferences). Because an event saved to your profile becomes an event page on Rencie, removing it from your profile does not by itself delete the event page. To request deletion of event data stored on Rencie's servers, please contact us using the information below.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
